Pauliina Silva has completed a vocational qualification in wellbeing tourism at Salpaus Further Education Center. She is a part-time entrepreneur and an owner of âLuontoemoâ a natural product company in Sysmä.
âI have studied several different things during my life, and wondered if I should go to another degree. I'm really happy though that I decided to do a well-being tourism qualification. It was interesting during my studies to visit tourism companies and to get acquainted with the FinRelax program.â she says.
âIt was great to meet new people, who were interested in the same topics and to hear the experiences of long-time teachers and students in the tourism industry. Studying is easy to combine with life, because there is only a limited amount of classroom days.â
Acting as an entrepreneur brings variation and freedom
Silva âLuontoemoâ herbal medicine was founded 25 years ago by her mother Ritva Salminen. Now Pauliina Silva is in charge of natural products and wellness services.
Silva wants to make her job feel meaningful, as well as, to support the community and its well-being. She also wants to work with the restoration and maintenance of traditional herbal remedies.
- I'm a part-time entrepreneur because I like variation in life. The freedom to do things when and how I want is important to me. I also like to do many different things.
By studying you can development your own business
âFor me, the training provided professionalism and the ability to work on the skills and competences that I needed. Silva already has plans for the future. She wants to refine the services she offers and to provide information to tourists coming to Finland and to Finns interested in using nature remedies.
âIn the future, I would like to introduce groups to explore Brazilian nature, local therapies and to receive light and relaxation treatments in the midst of Finland's kaamos.
